Lagos State University Library Current Jobs in Nigeria: Vacancy for Librarians

Applications are invited from suitably qualified candidates for the vacant positions in the Lagos State University Library.

JOB TITLE:   Principal Librarian (CONUASS 5)

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE: 

• A good first degree in the Humanities, Natural Sciences, the Social Sciences or Law and Postgraduate qualifications such as MLS or MIS with at least ten [10] years,
• Candidates must produce evidence of research and publications,
• Knowledge of computer applications to Library system is required,
• Possession of a Ph. D in Library and Information Science will be an advantage.

JOB TITLE:   Senior Librarian (CONUASS 4)

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

• A good first degree in the Humanities, Natural Sciences, the Social Sciences or Law and Postgraduate qualifications such as MLS or MIS with at least six [6] years in a University or Tertiary Institution of any other Library of equivalent standing,
• Candidates must produce evidence of research and Publications,
• Knowledge of computer application to Library system is required,
• Possession of a Ph.D in Library and Information Science will be an advantage.

JOB TITLE:   Librarian I (CONUASS 3)

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• A good first degree in the Humanities, Natural Sciences, the Social Sciences or Law and Postgraduate qualifications such as MLS or MIS with at least three [3] years in a University or Tertiary Institution of comparative standing,
• Candidates must produce evidence of research and publications,
• Knowledge of Information Technology is required,
• Possession of a Ph.D in Library and Information Science will be an advantage.

JOB TITLE:   Librarian II (CONUASS 2)

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Applicants must possess  good first degree in the Humanities, Natural Sciences, the Social Sciences or Law and Postgraduate qualifications such as MLS or MIS,
• Knowledge of Information Technology is required,
• Possession of a Ph.D in Library and Information Science will be an advantage.

JOB TITLE:   Library Officer (CONUASS 06)

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:

• Applicants must have a Higher National Diploma [HND] in Library science from a recognized institution,
• Knowledge of Information Communication Technology (ICT) is required,
• Candidates must be a team player and possess good communication skills.

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE:

• As contained in the approved Conditions of Service guiding senior staff of the University.
