JOB VACANCIES:

We are seeking  an experienced and highly motivated individual in any of the engineering discipline specialty for immediate appointment as Project Manager in our Organization.

POST TITLE:   Project Manager

Our organization operates within the maritime industry and is currently engaged in developing a state of the art sea port and terminal facility. The revolution involves massive investment in infrastructural development that will support all activities within the port.

THE CANDIDATES:

• The successful candidate is expected to work as part of an innovative and highly committed team made up of local and renowned international consultants; will also project manage all engineering aspects throughout the ongoing construction activities from outline design through to completion of construction,
• He must be experienced in the management of specialist consultants; in risk management and value engineering; possess excellent communication skills and be a strong team player,
• A proven track record of managing and motivating matrix teams will be an added advantage.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include the following:

• Manage project team activities to deliver on agreed targets and budget,
• Communicate and coordinate day-to-day project activities within the project team and assure that priorities are developed and known,
• Ensure that contractors and their supervisors are monitored on an ongoing basis and that contractors’ managements take positive actions to maintain safety, health and environmental arrangements,
• Assure that project milestones/targets are clearly communicated and understood within and outside the project such that the appropriate parties can marshal resources and activities to align with project delivery,
• Liaise with designers and project consultant to ensure correct interpretation of their requirements and obtain authorization for modifications consequent upon site conditions Assist with input to the commercial process, prepare local instructions to contractors and ensure that work is effectively managed to control costs,
• Maintain records for use in adjudication on applications for enhanced or reduced payment,
• Must work to improve safety performance and meet company targets Qualification.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of a Bachelor Degree in Engineering from a reputable institution,
• Minimum of five years post qualification experience in similar position,
• Knowledge of AutoCAD usage,
• Certificate in project management will be an added advantage.
