JOB VACANCY:

Unity Kapital Assurance Plc (an Abuja based Insurance underwriter) is offering an exciting opportunity to Qualified Insurance Professionals with competitive remunerations for the following office.

POST TITLE:   Executive Director Operations

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
  • To direct and control the Underwriting and Marketing teams and to take responsibility for the portfolio of clients, ensuring effective operations for the company.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
  1. To monitor the activities of both the Technical and Marketing Departments in the Operations Directorate,
  2. Direct and control the staff of the directorate to ensure that they are appropriately motivated and trained and are working towards the achievement of the company’s corporate objectives,
  3. Provide an efficient and effective service to clients by maintaining effective communication with them, responding promptly to enquiries,
  4. Maintain a sound knowledge of competitors by thoroughly analyzing market position, products, rates etc.,
  5. Review claims from clients, check these for accuracy and decide on the appropriate action to be taken,
  6. Maintain all necessary records and processes to ensure that premiums are paid promptly and that claims are efficiently processed,
  7. Oversee the Marketing projections and to ensure that the company meets its financial targets,
  8. Identify and develop new initiatives to improve the range and quality of the products provided by the company and to ensure responsiveness to changes in the external environment,
  9. Develop all necessary policies and procedures to ensure the effective promotion and marketing of the company,
  10. Analyse trends in the business environment, help to develop products that are responsive to market demands, and identify new market opportunities,
  11. Assist in formulating and monitoring the annual business plan to ensure the long-term success and viability of the company and the attainment of corporate objectives,
  12. Advise the company, as part of the corporate management team, on the development of new initiatives and the promotion and marketing of products to ensure the achievement of the company’s business plan and corporate objectives.
THE KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
  • At least 10 years’ post qualification experience in the insurance industry;
  • Proven track record of marketing excellence with details of accounts held;
  • Relevant underwriting skills;
  • Strong technical knowledge of the insurance sector;
  • Management skills and previous management experience;
  • An ability to undertake analysis and research;
  • Practical Skills in Computer operation,
  • Good communication Skills,
  • An excellent interpersonal skills necessary to be able to manage a team of professionals and to negotiate relations with a range of clients.
EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:
  • A minimum of Higher National Diploma or a University Degree,
  • ACII or other Professional Certification obtained from 2007 and below,
  • An MBA would be an added advantage,
  • Must not be above 45 years of age.
