Centre for Development and Population Activities Current Jobs in Nigeria: Recruitment for State Training Manager

POST TITLE:   State Training Manager


JOB LOCATION: Sokoto, Nigeria

SALARY/REMUNERATION: Negotiable, per experience and qualifications

REPORTS TO: Reporting to the Deputy Chief of Party in the assigned state, 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: 
  • The State Training Manager provides technical and managerial leadership and coordination in the development and implementation of the TSHIP training strategy,
  • Conducts training needs assessments; 
  • Provides technical assistance in the design, delivery, and evaluation of MNCH and FP/RH service delivery and management training for government, CSO and private sector partners; 
  • Liaises with SO and other teams for technical, financing and administrative inputs to facilitate training; and forges linkages and contacts with the range of TSHIP partners for coordination, collaboration and leveraging of resources.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop, update and implement the TSHIP training strategy including linkages and coordination with partners,
  • Lead and participate in the development, review and updating of training curricula and trainer and learner materials in the assigned state, in collaboration with technical staff,
  • Liaise with the Director of M & E to determine training evaluation needs and areas, and to design and implement the evaluations needs and areas , and to design and implement the evaluations,
  • Lead and participate in the development and implementation of technical assistance to relevant  MDAs (State and LGA) to create, strengthen and  institutionalize structures, systems, staffing and  resources for in-service training of health human resources,
  • Lead and participate in the development, updating and evaluation of methods and tools for implementing the TSHIP training process,
  • Liaise with TSHIP technical staff to identify suitable trainers and training resource persons; and implement activities to develop and update trainers and training resource persons,
  • Organize and oversee the conduct and reporting of training needs assessments,   working closely with appropriate strategic objective (SO) team staff, to determine learning outcomes needed for success and collect information about target beneficiaries when and where necessary,
  • Organize, support and evaluate training to strengthen MNCH/RH/FP Program capacity and organization effectiveness, in liaison with technical staff, and government and development partners,
  • Plan and implement training follow-up activities to document (and support, where appropriate) post-training activities,
  • Provide inputs to development and improvement of systems including oversight to training material revision, translation and production, procedures and tools to sustain the quality of TSHIP training and follow-up support,
  • Contribute to the development of and implement measures for training quality assurance in collaboration with the senior quality management Advisor,
  • Forge linkages and contacts with the range of TSHIP partners for coordination, collaboration and leveraging of resources.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
  • Applicants should have Masters degree and or Bachelor’s degree with five years experience in Public Health, Social science, policy Organization Development Communications, or a related field required,
  • 3-4 years previous experience with creating and developing training and development content and programs required,
  • Familiarity with the RH/FP/MCH field’s concepts, practices, procedures, and platforms required,
  • Strong communication and organizational skill,
  • Project Management skills,
  • Bilingual-Hausa speaker is a must.
