THE ORGANIZATION:
Evidence for Action (E4A) is a five year programme (2011--2016) managed by Options Consultancy Services and funded by the UK Department for International Development (DFID) to improve maternal and newborn survival through a combined focus on evidence, advocacy and accountability across six sub-Saharan African countries: Ethiopia, Ghana, Malawi, Nigeria, Sierra Leone and Tanzania.
We are recruiting for two positions based in Kano or Abuja (TBC):
POST TITLE: Country Director
SALARY/REMUNERATION: commensurate with experience
We are looking for a Country Director to lead Evidence for Action efforts in Nigeria
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- You will be passionate about and have expertise in working towards reducing maternal and newborn death in Nigeria,
- You will be a ‘change agent’, someone with the insights, skills and hands on experience of making things happen in health,
- You will be well respected in your field and have strong relevant networks,
- You will understand on-the-ground realities about maternal and newborn survival in Nigeria,
- You will be a communicator and a connector between various evidence, advocacy and accountability stakeholders working on MNH,
- You will be a strong leader and manager who will engage at all levels of the E4A project in Nigeria.

We are looking for an Evidence Advisor to Lead the Technical Inputs for Evidence for Action efforts in Nigeria.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- You will be passionate about and have expertise in working towards reducing maternal and newborn death in Nigeria,
- You will be a well respected researcher on maternal and neonatal health and have strong relevant academic networks,
- You will be skilled in using both quantitative and qualitative research methods,
- You will understand health management information systems,
- You will understand the on the ground realities about maternal and newborn survival in Nigeria and be competent in methods for political economy analysis,
- You will be a strong writer, communicator and connector.
